This Clay Matriarch card would be beneficial in a control or tempo Priest deck that focuses on board presence and value generation. While the Miniaturize Taunt and Deathrattle summoning a 4/4 Whelp with Elusive provide good defensive and offensive capabilities, there may be better options available such as Convincing Infiltrator for a similar mana cost with more immediate impact. However, Clay Matriarch could see play in specific Priest decks looking for additional value and board presence.
