**Decimatie** zou het beste passen in een langzaam, op controle gericht Warrior-deck (vooral een Warrior in Control- of Odyn-stijl) dat tot doel heeft het bord te blokkeren en brede minion-strategieën te bestraffen, omdat het schalingseffect tegenstanders (of beide spelers) beloont die meerdere minions in het spel hebben, waardoor het bijzonder sterk is tegen zwerm-, token- of agressieve decks. Of er echter gespeeld moet worden, hangt sterk af van de exacte schadeschaal; Warrior heeft al toegang tot zeer efficiënte board clears zoals **Brawl** (die brede boards volledig kan resetten voor 5 mana) en situationele opties zoals **Bladestorm**, die vaak betrouwbaarder of goedkoper zijn. Als de schade van Decimation hoog genoeg is om consequent middelgrote volgelingen op te ruimen (bijvoorbeeld 4-6 schade of meer in gewone bordstaten), zou dit opname als stabilisator voor laat spel kunnen rechtvaardigen, maar als de schaling inconsistent of te laag is, zouden bestaande bordopruimingen zoa
