About Encircle
Encircle, Spell, designed by Kevin Sidharta first released in september 2026 in the set Reign of the Black Empire.
Encircle best fits a token- or board-buff-oriented Demon Hunter deck that can turn five bodies into lethal pressure with buffs, although the five 3/1 Rush minions are primarily efficient removal on the turn they arrive rather than durable threats; the opponent’s random 1-Cost minion is usually a manageable downside but can occasionally enable synergy. At 6 mana, it competes poorly with more proactive payoff cards such as Window Shopper, which develops a substantial body while finding discounted Demons, and with Demon Hunter’s cheaper tempo and damage tools that let aggressive decks keep initiative earlier. Encircle is powerful when it clears several medium-sized minions and leaves a board for buffs, but it is too slow and vulnerable to board clears for most competitive lists, so it is more of a niche or experimental inclusion than a card that should routinely see play.
