About Chisel
Chisel, Spell, designed by Zoltan Boros first released in september 2026 in the set Reign of the Black Empire.
Chisel would mainly benefit a Control or Taunt Warrior deck that wants an early defensive body and values board presence over immediate removal, since a two-mana Taunt minion with +2/+3 can efficiently stabilize against aggressive decks; however, its usefulness depends heavily on what “Assemble” produces, because a random low-stat Taunt may still be underwhelming. Compared with reliable options such as Stonehill Defender for discovering a specific Taunt or Shield Block for guaranteed armor and card draw, Chisel is more proactive but less consistent, and it may also compete with stronger modern Warrior removal and armor tools. It should see play if Assemble consistently creates a reasonable minion—roughly a 2/3 or better before the buff—but otherwise it is likely too narrow and inconsistent for competitive decks.
