About Incubate
Incubate, Spell, designed by Vladimir Kafanov first released in september 2026 in the set Reign of the Black Empire.
Incubate would fit best in a low-curve Combo/tempo Rogue that can reliably play a cheap card before each Larva and treats the off-class Hero Power effects as flexible incidental value rather than a core win condition; it is especially more plausible in Sonya Waterdancer-style value/combo shells, where cheap generated cards can be replayed or used to extend turns. However, it is likely weaker than more consistent 2-mana Rogue value tools such as Stick Up, which immediately discovers a useful card from another class, or efficient draw/board-development cards, because Incubate costs 2 mana without affecting the board and then asks for three additional mana and Combo activators before paying off, while many possible Hero Powers are low impact or poorly timed. Unless the Larvae can be exploited by a specific future synergy or the metagame rewards extreme hand generation, Incubate probably should not see competitive play.
