About Shadewing
Shadewing, Minion - beast, designed by Matt Dixon first released in september 2026 in the set Reign of the Black Empire.
Shadewing best fits a slow Shadow-spell payoff deck, especially Warlock or Priest builds that hold several expensive Shadow spells and can afford to wait for a Deathrattle to trigger; it is weakest in aggressive Shadow Priest-style decks, where the random discount often hits a cheap spell and the 2/2 body is low impact. Class-specific mana engines are generally better: `Radiant Elemental` is stronger in Priest because it discounts every spell immediately while it survives, and `Runed Mithril Rod` is stronger in slower Warlock because it can reduce an entire hand. Shadewing is a reasonable budget or supplementary inclusion when a deck has enough costly Shadow spells, but its random target, delayed activation, and mediocre stats mean it should not usually be a competitive staple unless a future Shadow-spell combo makes the two-mana discount reliably decisive.
