About Arcane Tripwire

Arcane Tripwire, Spell, designed by Grafit first released in Jun, 2026 in the set Escape from Violet Hold.

Arcane Tripwire would fit best in a slower Hunter archetype that can capitalize on spell synergy and prolonged games, such as Spell Hunter or a Control/Highlander Hunter build, since those decks can afford the 3‑mana investment and benefit from additional value shuffled into the deck; the split 5 damage is strong versus wide boards, and the delayed redraw effect adds inevitability and extra reach. However, in most metas, Hunter prefers either highly efficient early pressure (Face/Aggro Hunter) or powerful swing tools (like Wild Spirits, Ricochet Shot, Dragonbane Shot, or Star Power in slower builds), which often provide more immediate and reliable impact than delayed shuffled effects. Unless the format heavily rewards attrition and spell synergy (for example with cost reduction, spell damage, or draw manipulation), Arcane Tripwire would likely be fringe or tech-level at best rather than a staple, as the delayed payoff can be inconsistent compared to stronger, immediate board control op
