About Agent of the Old Ones
Agent of the Old Ones, Minion - demon, designed by Vlad Botos first released in Mar, 2026 in the set CATACLYSM.
**Agent of the Old Ones** would fit best in a Rogue deck that heavily rewards cheap spell generation and spell-casting synergies—such as Miracle Rogue or combo-oriented builds that benefit from extra Coins to trigger cards like *Gadgetzan Auctioneer*, combo activators, or mana-cheat payoffs. However, transforming a card in your hand into a Coin is usually card disadvantage, since you are effectively losing a real resource for temporary mana, which makes it weak unless you specifically want to cycle or enable combo chains that same turn. In most cases, cards like *Counterfeit Coin* (which doesn’t cost you a card slot in hand beyond itself), *Preparation* (mana discount without losing another card), or traditional draw engines are more efficient and flexible. Because of this, Agent of the Old Ones would likely be too low in value for competitive play unless there is a very specific combo deck that desperately needs extra Coins, making it generally outclassed by existing Rogue mana tools.
