About Summoner's Egg

Summoner's Egg, Artifact creature — egg, designed by Jim Nelson first released in Jun, 2004 in the set Fifth Dawn.

A deck that focuses on cheating big creatures into play quickly, such as a reanimator or ramp deck, would benefit from using Summoner's Egg in Magic: The Gathering. While Summoner's Egg can be a fun and flavorful card to play with, there are more efficient options available like Sneak Attack or Through the Breach that can put creatures directly onto the battlefield without the risk of losing them if the Egg is destroyed. Overall, Summoner's Egg may not see competitive play in high-level decks due to its slower and riskier nature compared to other options.

Rules

12/01/04

Any “When this creature is turned face up” abilities that the exiled card may have don’t trigger because the card isn’t being turned face up while it’s on the battlefield.

12/01/04

The card is imprinted face down. This means that other players don’t know what the card is and you can’t look at the card once it’s imprinted (until it’s turned face up, of course). Note that effects that exile cards, including all previous imprint cards, exile those cards face up unless the effect says otherwise.
