While it can be a decent addition to such a deck, there are potentially better options available like Adanto Vanguard or Skyhunter Skirmisher that offer more impactful abilities or stats for a similar cost, making Boros Mastiff less likely to see competitive play in higher-level Magic: the Gathering decks.
