Constellar’s Calling would mainly benefit a minion-heavy, low-curve Tempo or Elemental Mage deck that can target a discounted or already-useful minion and gamble on getting another body of the same cost, but its random outcome and requirement for a friendly minion make it unreliable in traditional spell-heavy Mage lists. In most decks, more consistent two-mana options such as Frostbolt for removal, Discovery of Magic for flexibility, or card-draw tools like Volume Up provide greater immediate value and do not depend on having a target in play. It could be playable as a niche value or high-roll card in a deck built around cost reduction and strong same-cost minions, but unless the surrounding meta heavily rewards flooding the board, it should not see competitive play.
