This card, Crush Dissent, would be beneficial in a control deck that focuses on disrupting the opponent's spells while also building up a board presence with Zombie armies. While Crush Dissent offers versatility with its counter ability and Amass mechanic, there are potentially better options like Counterspell for pure spell disruption or Army of the Damned for a more impactful Zombie army creation. However, Crush Dissent could see play in a deck that values both spell control and creature generation.

If you don’t control an Army, the Zombie Army token that you create enters the battlefield as a 0/0 creature. Any abilities that trigger when a creature with a certain power enters the battlefield, such as that of Mentor of the Meek, will see the token enter as a 0/0 creature before it gets +1/+1 counters.
