This Novice Engineer card would benefit a deck focused on card draw and cycling through the deck quickly, such as a combo or control deck. While it provides immediate card draw upon being played, there are better options available like Loot Hoarder or Acolyte of Pain which offer more value in terms of card draw or board presence. Novice Engineer could see play in budget decks or specific deck archetypes that require additional card draw options.
