Sandstone Needle could be beneficial in a mono-red aggressive deck looking to ramp up their mana quickly for powerful plays. However, its drawback of sacrificing itself after using up its depletion counters may make it less desirable compared to other land cards that provide consistent mana without the risk of self-sacrifice, such as basic Mountains or other dual lands like Shock Lands or Check Lands.
