A deck that benefits from Vernal Fen would be a two-color deck that relies on both black and green mana sources, such as Golgari or Jund decks in Magic: the Gathering. While Vernal Fen offers flexibility by tapping for either black or green mana, its drawback of entering tapped unless you control two or more basic lands may slow down early-game plays. Other dual lands that enter untapped, such as Overgrown Tomb or Woodland Cemetery, may be better choices for efficiency and tempo, but Vernal Fen could still be considered for budget or specific synergy reasons in casual or restricted formats.
