Introduction

Another Hearthstone set was released last week - The Great Dark Beyond, which includes 145 new cards! As usual, this new updated has completely changed the meta, so now it's time to create new decks or improve old ones.

We, at Cards Realm, decided to do some research and bring you the top three strongest decks from the first week of the Great Dark beyond. These are the top-performing decks according to HSReplay. Check it out!

Rainbow Shaman

Main Game Plan

Rainbow Shaman is, by far, the most expensive list we'll see today, but it's also the most efficient. Its win rate, according to HSReplay, is 61%. It also plays many legendary minions.

Basically, the goal is to summon multiple minions, either with spells or minions, fill the board, and put pressure on the opponent. Patches the Pilot, Carefree Cookie, and Pop-Up Book are a few cards in this list that do that.

Please note that Carefree Cookie has Demon Hunter Tourist, which is essential, as it lets us use cards from this class.

Win Condition

After your board is full of minions, you'll naturally deal small amounts of damage throughout the rounds. Eventually, your opponent will be so vulnerable you'll be able to finish the game.

Thrall's Gift is the best option in that case. It will give you three temporary spells to choose from, but the best is Bloodlust, which will grant +3 attack power to your whole board. If it's full, you'll deal 21 extra damage.

You can combine this spell with Sigil of Skydiving to take advantage of the Pirates' Charge.

Mulligan - Starting Hand

For your starting hand, prefer turn 1 minions, like Patches the Pilot and Murloc Growfin. They'll help you build a strong board.

Gold Panner (or Needlerock Totem) and Gorgonzormu are also essential because they're very efficient. Gorgonzormu, for instance, gives you a spell that summons minions. This spell upgrades each turn, so get it as soon as possible.

Elemental Mage

Main Game Plan

This deck didn't change much after this set came along. It only got Blazing Accretion and some other cards to enable it, and Synthesize was pushed out as a result.

Elemental Mage is a great choice for new players, as it only plays one legendary card, and has a simple goal: play Elementals as often as you can, turn after turn. This way, minions like Lamplighter and Overflow Surger will be more powerful.

Naturally, this list plays many Elementals, more specifically 23 (out of the 30 cards in the deck). The other seven cards are Fire spells.

And this is where the new minion enters: Blazing Accretion destroys the top three cards in your deck, but you'll draw any Elemental or Fire spells instead of destroying them. This means it will never destroy anything; you'll draw many cards and put a 3/1 body on the board for just three mana.

Win Condition

This deck is quite simple and aggressive. Focus on playing Elementals and always take advantage of their effects. Eventually, Lamplighter and Overflow Surger will find their way into your hand, and will be quite powerful.

Check out below how I won a match by dealing a lot of damage with Lamplighter:

You can also use your Fire spells to finish matches. For instance, Flame Geyser, Spontaneous Combustion (when there are no enemy minions on the board), Molten Rune, and Solar Flare deal damage to the opponent directly.

Keep in mind that Saruun buffs these spells, and makes them even more efficient win conditions.

Mulligan - Starting Hand

Your priority is to find cheap Elementals to start playing them as soon as possible. If you can get at least 1-cost minion, feel free to look for Lamplighter, but prefer minions you'll play right away, as you'll only use Lamplighter in later turns. You'll have plenty of time to draw it later on.

Secret Hunter

Main Game Plan

The last list didn't change much, and this one didn't change at all. Secret Hunter is still exactly the same as before, and is still incredibly powerful.

The idea is to cast several secrets to put pressure on your opponent, who'll have to take a different approach to try to figure out which resources you got. For instance, if you have an Explosive Trap on the board, your opponent will have to use an inefficient spell just to find out if it was an Ice Trap.

Loading icon

This strategy will heavily disrupt your opponent, who'll always have to play around your secrets and probably lose the game as a result. Furthermore, Product 9 also brings back all the secrets you used in the match, so you'll be able to put even more pressure on your opponent.

Win Condition

Patchwork Pals will give us 3 discounted Animal Companions. Huffer's Charge and Leokk's buffs are efficient to put pressure on the opponent, and therefore win matches.

Loading icon

There are a few small combos you can play to deal even more damage, like Vicious Slitherspear and Bunch of Bananas. Because of Vicious Slitherspear, each Banana will give you 2 attack.

Loading icon

Secret Hunter takes on a more defensive approach, so we don't have a great way to finish games, apart from winning through fatigue. So, we play Zilliax Deluxe 3000 in this list: it will be one of the strongest minions on our board with the Haywire and Power modules.

Mulligan - Starting Hand

Costumed Singer and Titanforged Traps are essential because they'll give you many secrets.

Loading icon

Other interesting options are Patchwork Pals, which will give you more resources. It'll also give you generic secrets, which are useful regardless of the matchup, like Bargain Bin and Hidden Meaning.

As Secret Hunter didn't change at all since the new set came along, our previous guide is still valid. Check it out herelink outside website.

Final Words

This set has brought us many new cards, but none of them have impacted the meta like other sets. The decks that were powerful before are still powerful now.

I hope this article helped you find your perfect deck, and get to Legend.
